Washed Process

Washed coffee beans generally have a cleaner and more crisp flavor profile than naturally processed coffee. Preferred by people who like a more acidic and cleaner cup of coffee
A flowchart illustrating the process of making cherries into dried cherries. It starts with sorting cherries, depulping, fermentation, washing, and then drying the cherries.
  • The process begins by sorting through each cherry. Those that are unripe or have defects are discarded, those that are ripe move on to the next process

  • The pulp is completely removed from the cherry. This in return provides a cleaner flavor profile for the bean

  • All de-pulped beans are then placed into a fermentation tank where the mucilage (sticky membrane) is broken down from the natural yeasts and bacteria.

  • Beans are carefully washed to remove all remaining mucilage that remains. They are now ready to be dried.

  • Last but not least, the seeds are laid out in a bed to be dried in the sun before being bagged
